Mam has Alzheimers, we had a lovely day out on Saturday.
I know that by Sunday she wouldn't remember anything about it.
Such a cruel disease.

I am looking at this again...I have a photo of you with Chris and what's noticeable here is you and your Mam have the same stance...I hope the doors will open for you to be able to visit her in her new home soon, John. xx

My Mum too, John...I like to think it wasn't too scary or sad for her as it was for the rest of us, like Ray's mothers, the changing phases, becoming the person she had never been, then the silence. A cruel disease that effects so many. I like this photo a lot.

So hard John for those, like you, who cope. Pete's mum sadly went down the same route. It's lovely to be able to take your Mam out and about, she enjoys it at the time even though she won't remember.

so saddening to experience the advance of the condition...in her last couple of years my mum was totally blanked out, and could not even speak a phrase, much less a sentence... good on you John for offering support by taking your mum on outings...on her own terms she doubtless enjoys the contact and the moments..

At times like these you have to make every day count. My mum also had Alzheimers - in her case she went through quite a distressing phase, but that was followed by being in a child's world which I think for her was not painful at all.
