Whoa, I said to myself. I have stumbled upon a secret treasure map or something. It has Moab clearly marked. I wonder if Agent Listorama is aware of this? Actually I know he isn't because he hasn't cracked open a math book since high school when he opened it up to conceal a secret message he had written to his girl friend. This is in the Algebra II text at Clear Lake High School. The students are supposed to use matrices to figure this one out. It is actually pretty easy.

Answers:
a.) 4786 square miles
b.) 3201 square miles
c.) 7987 square miles (duh!)
d.) make another pair of triangles with the common side being vertical

a medical deck is always one short of a full deck.

How many playing cards are in a medical deck?
John Cooper05-Dec-2007 19:20
Dave, Mr Kama Sutra wrote the book of love.
I would like to enter the date in my diary of you collecting your Crystal Award, but it only goes up to December the 31st 2099.

Noted and logged. Mr. Sulu would you please escort Agent Listorama down to the Medical Deck?

While I respect Agent Cross’s dedication to The Cause---after all, he is willing to reside in Texas (and not far from Agent Chempilot)---I once again must spend my valuable time to correct a misunderstanding promulgated by him. This most assuredly will be brief!

Cross assumes that because I have not opened a math book since school days I am unaware of the “Dinosaur Diamond.” This is a classic example of disinformation emanating from Clear Lake, for two reasons: 1) I opened my high school geometry book about five years ago to look at a cute little angle. 2) My scientific research long ago exposed me to the Myth of the Dinosaur Diamond, and the (proven) explanation that dinosaurs neither played baseball nor wore jewelry. On a related note, let it be known that I am more interested in railroad tracks than dinosaur tracks.

Also, I never used a math book to conceal---or reveal---a secret message written to my girl friend. It is true that instructors would never think that a book about The Evil Math (calculus) could be used for transmitting love messages, so such a book would be the ideal medium for same if one wanted to “pass notes” in class without being caught. However, because The Evil Math is so distasteful, I would never sully a message of love by exposing it to The Evil Math, whatever its form (book, formula, etc.). Any love notes, messages, missives, and communiqués were aided by my use of the Book of Love. By the way, I wonder wonder who, be-doooo who, who wrote the book of love).

Note to JVC: I humbly submit this daringly concise comment for consideration by the Crystal Mark committee. Thank you in advance for putting in a good word for me. I hope you will attend the awards ceremony.

Not only smooth but non spherical. But be nice guys, remember, its a Texas High School which is flat and pretty much smooth.

I agree with chempilot on this one. (I called heads and he won)

Good job john. i give you an A-, since you failed to mention that these answers are only correct if you assume a smooth surface area. keep up the good work. maybe someday you too can join the lofty ranks of agent listorama and the fight against Them. :^P
