A couple days ago we had a power blip here and as usual the battery backup systems perfromed flawlessly and protected our two desktop computers. The laptop did just fine as well since its own batteries take over when the power screws up. However, the Nikon was in the middle of a scan and it naturally lost its mind. I got to thinking that maybe I should do something to protect it. So, I went out to Fry's and bought another battery backup system. When I got back to the house, it was raining like hell, so I sat in the car for a moment and asked myself, "What would John Cooper do in a situation like this?" He would take a picture, of course. So that is what I did. Thanks again for the inspiration, John.

Good idea for protecting your scanner: having it go bad again would be a tragedy. Mr. Cooper is an inspiration to all of us, especially with his Live Web Cam gallery.
