I finished the Cessna annual this morning. I took it out and ran up the engine. The engine turned over tickety-boo (that's for John Cooper's benefit). I made all the log book entries and updated the AD compliance list, so the paperwork is done. I am going to put the cowling back on when Ginny's dad is here. That will give us something manly to do while Ginny and her mom shop.
Is "tickety-boo" an FAA requirement ?
I have done lots of engine work/maintenance on motor bike, car, and boat engines.
But never on a airplane engine.
If something ever went wrong with my work, the engine stopped and I walked or swam home.
Falling out of the sky with an engine failure would make one very careful indeed when working on an engine.
