I am working on a project to digitize our seemingly infinite collection of family photographs. I randomly selected a package of photos, and started scanning. This was one of the photos. It is a great one because it was the first trip to summer camp with any of my boys. Richard and I are heading off to Camp Strake when he was a Webelos. We had a great time. I am proud to say that my three sons went all the way through the Boy Scout program and became Eagle Scouts (just like me). Scouting is a great program and it grieves me that there are those in this society who will try to destroy the Scouts. American society is rapidly going to hell. When you attack the Boy Scouts because they encourage character (unlike Bill Clinton), citizenship (unlike Michael Moore) and belief in God (unlike the ACLU), you are treading on the very foundations of our constitution and our way of life. We enjoy a constitutional right to freedom of association. That means we get to associate with those we choose to associate with. Yet, the radical left continues to tell us who we HAVE to associate with. I have no interest in associating with aetheists, gay people or the leftist rabble that associates itself with the likes of Jane Fonda or John Kerry. We have a free country and, by golly, I intend to enjoy the freedoms that have been bestowed upon us. I have had all I can stand of the increasing cacophony of diversity. I really don't give a rat's patoot about your heritage. Practice your customs all you want but don't jam them down my throat. I don't care about cinco de mayo, Kwanzaa or any other tradition (or non-tradition in the case of Kwanzaa which was started in the mid-60's). I do care about Christmas and Easter, and I am going to observe them in my own way without jamming them down your throat. All in all the United States is a great place to live. I am very lucky. I hope and pray that Americans will get their collective will back together again and put the self righteous slander of the left wing back where it belongs - in hell. I also hope and pray that the business powers that be get their act together and stop all this CEO compensation crap and stop acting like a bunch of over privileged monarchs. I work hard for my living, and I am fairly compensated. As a sole proprietor I get what I deserve from the marketplace. I work hard and am rewarded for the hard work. I am sorry, but anybody that gets tons of dough when he is fired (golden parachute) should be brought up on charges under RICO. Think about it. Who sits on the boards of big corporations and sets the compensation for the executives? You guessed it, other big executives. They call this an interlocking directorate (which is illegal if they are in the same business). Yet they get away with it and nobody seems to be able to do anything about it. Now, I don't have a solution. I would think, however, that if there were any honest politicians up there in DC that they would do someting about it. But they aren't honest by any stretch of the imagination. the roster is riddled with almost felons who never get charged because they have good lawyers. Tom DeLay got nailed. Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid did not. Harry Reid especially since he is proud that he has been bought off by the Indian lobby. Jeez, I guess I should have said native american. All in all it is a very cozy club, politicians and executives. Watching out for each other while playing their political games.

But I could be wrong....

I couldn't agree with you more, John.
UK is going the same lefty way with all this politically crap sort of stuff.
Thankfully I am Scottish and we've now got our own Government with the Scottish National Party in charge so hopefully Crime will be tackled fiercely, folks will get a fair day's pay for a fair day's work (no more, no less) and all those wishy, washy lefties and gays can go back in the closet they crawled out of!

btw I was a Scout right through to Rovers (the equivalent of your Eagles)
