So today turned out to be our return home drive. It was a few days early because of the cancelled show at Palo Duro Canyon. So it goes. We were on the road for the 634 mile drive before 7:00 am. For the most part it was uneventful except for the TPMS (tire pressure monitoring system) that was illuminated on the instrument panel. We pulled over and I checked pressures and found one that was a few psi low. We put some air in it and we were off. It was a little disconcerting because those warning lights take a while to reset, but finally it went out.
As we headed south it rained quite a bit until we got to Wichita Falls. After that the weather was fine. The only traffic snag we hit was a problem on I-45 just north of Houston, Our GPS offered a better route and we took it. We rolled into the house about 5:30 after 10 1/2 hours on the road.
One of our favorite places is Buc-ee's. If you are not from Texas you probably don't know this phenomena. It is a giant gas station and store. There must be a hundred gas pumps there. The bathrooms are enormous and squeaky clean. They have a giant food selection. Our tradition is to stop for a break and get some sliced brisket for the road. As you can see in today's picture, Ginny likes the sandwich.
