Those of you that have been with me in the past were very familiar with my three daughters. I promise, I will reintroduce all of them to you soon. How could I not? My life truly revolves around them. Truthfully, if it weren’t for them, I can see no real purpose for me doing a Photo-a-Day.

Hailey is my soccer player. A lot of kids play soccer in the spring and fall. Then they play basketball or softball. They may also swim or skate. Hailey plays soccer. 365 days a year. She currently plays on a travel team (which I coach) and a club team. Hailey is hot or cold. When she’s on she is a true force to be reckoned with. She handles the other team’s business with authority. When she’s cold.....well, we’ll just leave it at that for now. Infuriating.

Hailey’s other favorite pastime is going to the emergency room. I can only assume that through the tears and objections on going, she has a true love for the E.R. Today she had a soccer game and she was on. Had a great game. She was where the ball was and scored the first goal for her team. She also managed to get hit in the head by a ball that had been fired out of a cannon. The girl that kicked it was a few feet away and the ball found Hailey rather quickly. She came home complaining of a headache. I checked her pupils and one was slightly smaller than the other. An hour or so later she said she was dizzy. Guess where she ended up?

Tonight Hailey declared that she was going to collect hospital ID bracelets. Not stuffed animals or earrings. No desire to collect Justin Bieber posters or bottles of nail polish. No, my middle daughter wants to collect hospital bracelets. The sad thing is that she actually has a fair shot at having quite a collection. She has slit her foot open on glass, broken her elbow falling off the pool, got another one for a recent MRI for said elbow, got a concussion today....If something is going to happen, it’s going to be to Hailey. In fact, I am rather surprised that Children’s Services hasn’t taken her away from me yet. That will be a sad day. I kinda like her.

So here it is. The start to Hailey’s new collection. Like every parent, I hope she doesn’t add to this collection, but I am a realist. I can only hope that it’s nothing serious for the next one. Do you know why I pay $59 a month for supplemental insurance? For Hailey, that’s why. I will get a check for $750 for the latest concussion episode. Most of that will go to the hospital bills since we are in a new year. If it was last month it would have gone toward Disney.

I have two girls that are sugar and spice and everything nice. Hailey? She’s concussions and banged knees and antiseptic and IVs.

I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Poor Hailey. I hope she recovers quickly.

Oh, how I identify with Hailey. I was just like her and the middle child. I'm sorry to hear about the concussion and do pray she heals quickly. She sounds like she runs with the wind blowing in her hair and having a blast. I also pray she doesn't get hurt again.

The trips to the ER usually happen when I am out to sea.

I can count on one hand, trips to the ER for incidents from 2 kids spanning a collective 27 years between them. I don't envy you...

Eli might give her a run for the money.

Oh my! Let's hope that this collection is rarely added to. And speedy recovery to Hailey!

My kids are grown for the most part, but I do remember those visits. My youngest spends his spare time at the volunteer FD and I I dread every time I hear those sirens leaving town.

Oh poor Hailey, we can only hope she doesn't get much of a collection! Hope she is fine in the morning!
