Barmouth church, railway line and a lady in red.

Barmouth, Gwynedd

St. John's Church (1889-1895) is built on a rocky promontory and dominates the town. It is as large as it is as it was built to accommodate large numbers of tourists who came to Barmouth when the railway arrived in 1860.

The town had something of a 'closing for winter' feel so the lady in red with her suitcase seemed to fit - as if she was the last person leaving. Her coat matches the red of the American Diner on the left and the red in the level crossing barriers!
