1980 Kawasaki KE100 G5 A9

This is my KE100 that my buddies found while looking at another bike. It started up, so it must have wanted to go home with them. I repaired 2 of their gas tanks in payment, and fixed up this one.
I gradually found lights and instrument on Ebay. The tail light is a Lucas copy on a custom aluminum mount. It looks a lot better than the big clunky stocker. Handlebars, mirrors, grips, crankcase seals, clutch plates/springs, tapered roller steering head bearings, petcock, speedo, key switch, brakes, cables, fork seals, battery, headlight, taillight, air filter, rear tire/tubes, RK chain, Sunstar sprockets, points and condenser, were all replaced. The carburetor is a Mikuni off of a later bike wich has been rebuilt. The 1980 bikes had an oddball carburetor that no parts are available for. The engine is quiet, and has good compression. The forks are off of a later model bike and do not top out all of the time. The stock forks are included. The tank was repainted with aircraft polyurethane, and coated inside with epoxy so no rust problems. Bel Ray SL2 oil used.
The bike runs like the proverbial top. I put 500 or so miles on it over the summer, and it never let me down. This bike is a reliable 2 kick starter when cold, and 1 when warm. I have never fouled a plug. Turn signal wiring is there, but I never put any turn signals on the bike.
KE100's are great little trail bikes. I really enjoyed riding it on the local trails.
