Spotlight on the Washington Monument

Washington, DC

The sun was going down as we made our way back into D.C.
I just loved the way the Washington Monument was catching the light.
My daughter-in-law and I asked my husband and son to drop us off at the Mall.
I was hoping to get some nice sunset reflection photos.
As you can see by the traffic our arrival in the city was a bit held up.
By the time we arrived, the moment was gone.

TO ALL MY FELLOW AMERICANS...PLEASE REMEMBER TO VOTE TOMORROW

Too bad you didn’t make it in time for your golden shots but you catched the monument at the right time all right. VV

Stunning image.

Canadians don't get to vote but whoever wins will have a major affect on us. So we also encourage everyone to get out and vote.

All best to all our American friends.

Very nice lgihting on the Washington Monument. That's typical DC traffic. When I lived there I took public transport, or walked or biked most of the time.
We voted tow weeks ago and urge all in the U.S. to do so!

Love the light on the monument and that wonderful sky. At least you made good use of your time in traffic.
Pierre Martin05-Nov-2018 14:13

Jim Coffman05-Nov-2018 13:47
Wow, what a great capture. I can't help but notice the amount of traffic!
I guess that's why I live in a town of 2500. :))
Helen Betts05-Nov-2018 13:35
You definitely caught it in great light. The traffic looks par for the course, too. I voted several weeks ago and would urge everybody to vote in these elections; they're too critical to sit out. V.

Great catch Jane! Wonder how many of the folks in those cars never even notice the Washington Monument there?
