This photo reminded me of the World Trade Center and how our country came together at that time.
Why can't that happen now?
The silhouette on the left is Stephanie.
A wonderful composition and fine view. Concerning your current situation, I think Walter has said it all in his comment. Moreover I think it´s always easy to stay together in times of a foreign enemy, but without everyone is playing his own games and for his own interests. v
Excellent and very creative framing, Jane! The silhouette adds great emotional interest as well. I agree wholeheartedly with Walter and Jim's comments as well as yours. I read an excellent piece by Tom Friedman in the International Herald Tribune this morning about how our very democracy is being threatened by this small group of politicians who are holding the country hostage over their ideological demands. A great composition, and wonderful silhouette of Stephanie. I thing there is an answer to your question Jane , it has something to do with Tea. I agree with your evaluation. Vote
a strong visual metaphor for your nation's predicament...unfortunately major decisions rest in the hands of career politicians..they face long term issues with short term thinking..
It is most unfortunate that it takes a great tragedy for people to come together. Having worked in DC for many years, I can tell you that the government was already dysfunctional decades ago and this problem has only become worse over the years, and is going to continue to get worse unless the system is fixed. Add to this the self serving nature of politicians, the incredible influence of lobbyists and the amazing stupidity of voters, then it's no wonder we are where we are.
