This is one of the five Awata Great Lanterns, that are displayed in Maruyama-koen (Maruyama Park) during the Higashiyama Hanatouro. These are made by students from Kyoto University. This particular lantern depicts a scene from a Japanese folk story.

This is another shot from my 5th visit to a Higashiyama Hanatouro it was taken pretty soon after the "Ikebana" photo I posted previously. After viewing the five Awata Great Lanterns we headed to Yasaka-jinja (Yasaka Shrine) for something very special which I plan to post next.
