Rose is very perceptiive -- I recall walking and climbing a long distance, only to view an arch that has become a photographic cliche. You offer us another to the story here, Iris. Your image goes well beyond showing us an over-photographed arch and instead stresses the incongruity of man's scale in the scheme of nature itself. You use nature as a stage and man as the performers here, tiny in scale, and separated by space that makes them seem so small and irrelevant.
WOW! The arch does look delicate, but your composition makes the people seem even more delicate. Your composition on the right is beautiful, but you take the whole image to another level when you include the people. I haven't been to this spot, but I've seen it so many times in other galleries that I've felt it's a cliche. Your give it a fresh perspective. My favorite image in this gallery! Vote!
