Possibly California Butterweed, aka Rayless Ragwort, Senecio aronicoides.

Clasping leaves on main stem (separate photo), no ray flowers in evidence,
similar to Common Groundsel except the plant is much larger overall, with
larger flower heads; lacks the black involucre bract tips of S. vulgaris.


Senecio-like yellow composite found at Edgewood. None of the Senecio
pix in CalPhotos reveal clasping leaves like this plant (next photo).
