StovePipe Wells Sand Dunes

Death Valley National Park

These are the primary (tallest) sand dunes in Death Valley
and are located just east of StovePipe Wells resort.
They lie about 1 km from the road. There are numerous other dunes
to the north-north east of StovePipe but not near as large or tall.

Next time I'll shoot this scene with my 135-600mm and
stitch the panorama together instead of heavily cropping
a single image taken with my 50mm.

This image was taken around 10:30 AM and the sun is already
too high in the sky to give much contrast to the dunes. Winter
time looks like a good time to shoot these.
