10052007 bare

Dad: This shot is for Yvonne, who asked recently how the bare patch in the woods where the Council cut down all the trees is coming on. As you can see, it's still bare - not much sign of new growth at all, except at the edge. This time last year this path was about as wide as three people standing abreast and was a riot of birdsong, of fresh green foliage, insects, moths, butterflies and flowers: http://www.pbase.com/poochdad/image/44292081

Looks as though the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers have been there, Pooch--looks like scraped earth.

Hard to believe its the same place - I'm sure someone could have sold the council a paddock to do their wheelies in! You go sharpen your teeth on their legs Pooch!

I can understand thinning, but mass removal is criminal !!

Pure vandalism, no not you Pooch, the council.

Welcome to my world. The town I live in has doubled in size in nine years. They keep cutting away at every bit of greenery they can find.

Sad....

The contrast is so striking. I think some people consider this progress.

What is it with authorities? Are there plans for regeneration? A sad sight. Chris
