Military Police Foot Patrol ...

Vietnam

... taken along Tu Do street. This was some of the most hazardous police work in the world at the time as EVERYONE was armed. The Military Police always worked in pairs with a motorized patrol in close proximity for immediate backup. These MP's are from the 716th Military Police Battalion.

I've read that US servicemen off duty in Vietnam weren't allowed to carry weapons.

Reminds me of the m.p.s I used to see in Gelnhausen Germany when I'd jump the fence and sneak into town. Great documentation Tom.
