Lovely image Michael. Even without the back story, she appears to have a far off look on her face that would indicate she's thinking obout something else than having her picture taken. I'm not sure about the large amount of OOF foreground, but a beautiful image anyway. CJ

Thanks Kiki & Najinsky. Appreciate the comments.
Traveller, 35mm F1.4 lens man. Rocks the hell out of most shots. ;)

I am delighted to see some of your work in the Challenges, Michael. This type of super-high quality photography is what inspires me (and others, I am sure) to work harder at improving my own work. Compliments and regards. ~jnconradie

A delightful choise of colors. Way oversaturated but it works like charm :) I would have toned down sat a notch on skin and hair, and made the skin a little warmer. A matter of personal taste - I have an issue with the Canon magenta. I think I'd also have added a color layer and painted out the grey corner bottom right with blue. Had to look for a while to find that though. All in all convincing work, nice mix of artistic intimacy and a more commercial look.

Fabulous shot. Colours lined up like a rainbow, the diamante in the dress and the curled hair. Awesome composition. Very nicely done. - Najinsky

Dearest Michael: Still, this is an interesting Phenomena, No? I think I got off to a bad start with iso because of my qestioning some of his obscure titles. This issues isn't so important for someone like me, but for professional photographers, I think that this very human tendency is something to be aware of...I believe that's all I am saying.

By the way, I do love the focus that keeps her but blurs a little the surrounding Architectural details. As always a masterful execution and blending of disparate elements into a unified whole.

Best Wishes, Traveller

LOL, don't mean to make you feel bad, Traveller. If it was me commenting, I probably will say the same thing. Things needs to be in context and when I see comments, I realized that the images are totally out of context with the subject, which is why I left the comment about the background story. No offense there and none taken. You're a good and funny man. ;-)

Dearest Michael: Well that certainly takes the fun out of my, "Am I going to be a Tramp Today?" rectorial question. But it does raise the equally interesting issue of a photographer bringing more to the photograph than there is in the image itself.

Let me be succinct on this...You know something that the general viewer does not know, specifically that her Grandfather has recently died and she is torn over doing the shoot...but there is absolutely nothing in the image itself indicating this factual background.

So what is a viewer to do with the title except to project into the image whatever may cross their minds?

In truth, I think that there is a valuable cautionary lesson here for all Photographers.

Best Wishes, Traveller

Haha, thanks for the comments. Some behind the scene stories. Her name is Alison. I shot her this past Sunday and she was going to cancel the shoot last week due to her grandfather passing on 10/18, just mere 5 days before the shoot. She decided to go ahead with the shoot just a day before it. So, it was a wierd experience for her, all dressed up on a shoot, just mere 5 days after her grandfather's passing...

Beautiful image, with excellent clarity and color (and I love the interesting architectural bits). As I was looking at it though, I was wondering--what is her dilemma? (That, and...odd choice of clothing and makeup to wear while leaning against a building...but maybe that's just me...) Then I saw Traveller's comment and had to laugh... It IS a beautiful image though. --Melanie (mlynn)

Lovely image, Michael, and great colors throughout. There is purple...lol. However, what is her Dilemma? To be a "Tramp," or not? I'm sorry Michael, I'm working today and hence a little wigged out...I'm just having fun. This is a great picture. Best Wishes, Traveller
