Just east of Yosemite's east entrance, this shot from Gaylor Peak is in stark (or green) contrast to the surrounding peaks. Though the road follows similar meadows the rest of the way into the park.
Great views for such a short but steep hike. From here you can see Lambert Dome back in Tuolumne Meadows, and Young Lakes which shares the same trail head. To the South is the bald Mt Dana and Mt Gibbs, and the valley I hiked toward Mono/Parker Pass. Gaylor & Granite Lakes are below the other side, one still partly snow covered. To the northwest is seems like there is an infinite number of peaks.
