Liocheles

Mount Etna, Qld

Most people probably don't get the opportunity to get this close to scorpions, because common sense gets the better of them
and they take up sensible hobbies that are usually safe and comfortable, like stamp collecting. However, for those weirdos like
me who spend way too much time peering underneath rocks, scorpions are a fairly common sight. They say that the larger the
pincers, the less venomous the sting, but this is something that I was reluctant to experiment with. Certainly this large-pincered
species seemed to make no attempt to defend itself with its tail.

I believe the scorps you have "down under" are relatively harmless to most adults. Can't say the same of all the spiders. Great Country though and I loved my visit. Just wish I hadn't left my nikorr 105mm micro home due to limited space on the tour....next time! ;-)

Loved all your shots.
