Thanks, Richard. I'm not familiar with this plant, but it sounds like the poisonous variety is less common than the non-poisonous: http://ncnatural.com/wildflwr/fall/sumac.html . By the way, are you familiar with any of the mushrooms I photographed? Is this Amanita? http://www.pbase.com/wbluhm/image/51240469

Nice photo. I have always been amazed that a plant as posionous as Sumac could be so attractive in the fall. - Richard
