Supermarket *

This building was originally a film studio, albeit briefly.
It was then bought by the Kayser Bonder company, who made hosiery and other ladies underwear. The grounds included a swimming pool and a lake, the building included a ballroom at which the Rolling Stones once played.
Many years after the factory closed, it was bought by the UK's largest supermarket chain, who proceeded to demolish everything except the Art Deco facade. When complete, I believe it was the largest supermarket in the country (although I don't believe it still holds that honour).
All this in a town of only 9200 residents...

I got an email from someone who wanted me to let you know that the town is Baldock in Cambridgeshire. Hope that helps.

Hmm, I wouldn't know... Abingdon? Not that I know Abingdon, but sounds English enough :)

Try running this one too through Shadows and Highlights and you'll be surprised how much more pop it gets.

:-)Hehe All that info & no town name. Very interesting Phil, I must admit even though the facade hides a modern shopping centre it does look very nice. I wonder if we should have a guessing competition on where this shot was taken. Where do you think Humberto?:-)
