I remember Guy's deli and worked with him after fire at the store.

My Aunt Ro, I believe worked here back in the 50s or so. She recently passed away. Does anyone remember her? Her name was Rosalie Battaglia/Scibetta. God, why does Buffalo let so many buildings decay?!!!

I used to live two blocks form here. My oldest brother even worked there. The old smoke stack and the flag, which was always illuminated at night, was always visable from our kitchen window. I remember walking ther to pick up cleaning and walking throught the front door in the right side of the white building. So sad to see it like this.

They used to pick up and deliver the laundry in trucks, and wrapped everything in dark blue heavy paper. Sweet Clean was a very viable operation in the 1950's but like so many others, became obsolete, with inexpensive washers and dryers in the home.

I work at Rural/Metro so I drive by this building quite often. The EPA is in the process of tearing it down It is truly depressing what has happened to all of the old neighborhoods of the city. Many times its just the residents not caring anymore. Urban blight is a huge problem in the city. It must have been impressive when it was in operation.
