Tribute to all these men and women who put their life in harms way to make our world a little safer.

Here on 9/30 in Enschede a senior cop Jan Wind died, brutally shot while routinely checking an apparent drugs dealer.
The pursuit of the shooter ended in a shoot out in and near the school yard of my kids elementary school while school was just going out. No kid got hurt, but dozens of them witnessed another cop going down after getting shot in the face, because he left his cover to get a 16 year out of the firing line.
He succeeded in doing so at great personal risk. We still do not know whether he will recover.
