Two Munich society ladies became enamored with Adolf Hitler in the 1920s and tried to "housebreak" him by inviting him to society functions. One was Helen Bechstien who took it upon herself to treat Hitler "like a needy son and shower him with affection, food and advice." The other lady was Bechstien's bitter rival, Elsa Bruckman. Bruckman's house was a society salon and she took it upon herself to make him "fit for society." She taught him how to eat artichoke or lobster and taught him how to kiss a lady's hand. This is the former home of one these ladies, probably Elsa Bruckman's, which is now a bank.
