May 20: Sixth Decade: 1988 - 1997

Another Countdown: Taking a cue from Paul Walters I am starting a seven day countdown to my birthday (May 26th) Each day I’ll be posting a picture with retrospective images and symbolism from a different decade. It is up to you to figure out the symbolism. (Hey, it isn’t all that hard.)
Women and children be warned: On the 26th I will post a FULL MONTY image of myself.
Unlike Paul, I shall continue my PaD after my birthday.

Okay here is the skinny on this image:
The die is set at six to indicate the retrospective covers my sixth decade (51 to 60 years old)
The chess piece is a King. I feel I was flourishing in my work and had a achieved master status in experience and accomplishment.
It represents the period of my life when I first became single again, and the lovely blonde is Lynn who stole my heart early in this period.
My photo was taken at Milford Sound because this was a period when I traveled a great deal both in the US and abroad.
Clinton was President during most of that time. I thought he was the best and the brightest although he ultimately deeply disappointed me with all of his antics.
(At the top) The RM was my company logo, and the ODN logo captures my heavy involvement in leadership roles in the professional organization.

You won't be insulted if I...ah, skip your gallery on the 26th, now will ya? I'll send my birthday wishes, privately. :) I can see how she could steal a man's heart.

Sounds intriguing! I will be agog. Even though I'm not sure what agog means...

I think the best thing CLinton did was get a little nookie....Kept him from sending lots of innocents to die for oil, now, didn't it??

Sorry....KEEP THE POLITICS OUT!!

I'll just wait quietly for the Full Monty.....

Hmmm... this should be fun!

Interesting idea. Have to watch this I guess except for maybe May26th. :)

Full monty? All I can say is... Uh oh. :-)

sex scandals.... it's all about the sex scandals. The bishops, Mr clinton. I just can't figure out where the OD comes into play unless you are sociologist engaged in the study of sexual misbehaviour of humans. Of course I could just keep writing and writing here but I would probably just dig myself into a deeper hole so I'll just shut up now and await your full dis-clothes-ure on the 26th.

I dont know...I don't think I'd get many hits if I posted a pic of me naked... Good idea about the count down though. I'll have to do that for August.

Look forward to the next few days.

A countdown - cool! Are we supposed to guess the decade? A more personal connection? A meta-theme? Are we all gonna get naked as a PAD theme? Imagine the hits we'd all get then!!!

Cool! I have no idea ... I liked Clinton ... The 26th ... thanks for the warning ... ;)

The link puzzles me. Did you put a fire out at Bill's house or something?!

The 26th you say ? The Full Monty ? I'll have to remember that !
Guest 20-May-2004 19:41
I look forward to your daily contributions. AND you can bet that I will be watching for that full monty! Anyway, your sense of humor and zest for life are so refreshing--as is your ability to communicate these attributes through your photos.

The symbolism's lost on me - I'm just a little Scotsman, it's all too cosmopolitan for me, heheh, but I'm assuming you're a Democrat!! Happy countdown to your birthday, and keep on surprising us with your humourous and idiosyncratic PaDs.
