Jupiter and Strobes
What looks like the bright star on the right is actually the planet Jupiter. The two parallel lines on the left were either from the 'running lights' or engines on an aircraft moving from left to right. The little flecks of light on and between the lines were left from the aircraft's strobe lights during the exposure. The line coming out of the bottom of Jupiter is actually two of it's moons and you may be able to see a third one at the top of Jupiter also. The elongation of Jupiter, it's moons and the stars in the photo is caused by the rotation of the Earth during the exposure time. Some thin clouds drifting by also.
