Green Sweat Bee

On a Peach Hibiscus

"Family: Halictidae (sweat bees) in the order Hymenoptera (ants, bees, wasps)

Description: small; none are aggressive. Most members of this family are black or brown, but some are brightly colored, notably with metallic greens and blues. Adults are usually seen as they forage for pollen and nectar among flowers in fields, gardens, grasslands, roadsides, and other open places where flowers are abundant.

The bright green bees in genus Augochlorella are the smallest sweat bees. They are inch in length."

So far, during the 2022 growing season (soon coming to an end), I've yet to see a honeybee. Fortunately, there are still some other pollinators (like the one above). Still, I am concerned about the total absence of honeybees... Wasps also seem to be very few in number this year.
