Luckenbach, Texas

I was looking forward to visiting this town, made famous in 1977 by a Waylon Jennings song of the same name.
There isn't much here now but a lot of history and interesting stories. This building was built in 1850 as a Post Office and General store with a beer joint in the rear.
It is now a souvenir shop but there is still a bar in the back and outside there is a bandstand where they have live music on the weekends. There were quite a few people enjoying the music on the Sunday I was there.
The original dance hall is still there as well. It's a step back in time so a fun place.
We were disappointed that the little trailer selling wine-flavored ice cream wasn't open.

Such a wonderful rustic feel highlighted by the patterns of light and shadow. Beautifully detailed and captured. The reflections in the front window add additional interest in this well famed image. VV

Interesting history and love the rustic looking post office.
A great place to visit and enjoy some refreshments.
Nice play on light and shadows and very nice in the detail department.

What a great place - the tree looks as old as the post office. Must have been handy for the post master to have a bar on the premises :) V
