Missouri Protects COVID’s Ability to Spread (12-08-21)

"KANSAS CITY, Mo. —Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt has a message for local public health agencies and school districts: Stop enforcing mask mandates and quarantine orders. Schmitt said that because of that decision, all public health orders, including enforcement of mask mandates, quarantine orders, and more, are null and void.

"With health department orders being dropped, Schmitt also told school officials that state law doesn’t allow them to issue their own mask mandates, quarantine orders or other public health initiatives. “Your school district should stop enforcing and publicizing any such orders immediately,” he wrote in his letter.” KMBC News

"Children with confirmed active cases of COVID are now allowed to stay in the classroom with others. No masks required.

“Missouri State health department analysis that was discovered through an open-records request. The study found that those Missouri cities that require masks to combat the coronavirus pandemic this year saw fewer infections and deaths.”

"However, after originally trying to hide the results of this state study, the Missouri governor and AG both now claim that the study provides false information and that masks do nothing to lessen the spread of COVID."

Missouri is currently suing Biden over any federal mask or vaccine mandates.

Politics are obviously more important in Missouri than public health…

“Missouri’s COVID positivity rate is today above 14%. COVID-19 cases are rising sharply again across Missouri, prompting renewed concerns about overcrowding at hospitals and long waits for emergency services and hospital beds. Hospitals are close a breaking point in the larger cities; with smaller towns already pushed beyond.

“COVID-19 also is hitting hard again in many schools. The Kansas City Star reported that several districts in the Kansas City area are reporting record numbers of cases.

“While the status of St. Louis County's mask mandate is under debate, the Democratic mayors of St. Louis and Kansas City say their COVID-19 mitigation efforts were approved by elected officials, and are legal. AG Nuelle, in an email, disagreed. ‘We’ve been clear that all COVID-19 public health orders are null and void,’ he said." The Associated Press

Frankly, I can’t help but wonder why Missouri’s Governor and his Attorney General seem to want COVID to win the pandemic war.
Obviously, they are both willfully enabling the virus to spread.
What is the value in allowing the virus to kill off those who voted for you???

The photo above is a Christmas Cactus with a bad case of scale. Yuck!!! Just when it was ready to bloom… It seems that once a pest or disease gets a hold anywhere, it’s hard to eliminate. Even with treatment, you might get the problem to go away for a little while, but then, it will probably pop up again somewhere else. If you do absolutely nothing - and just pretend there is no problem - then everything will probably end up with the problem, and all (not just a few) of your plants will eventually die.

Preventive measures work best.
Unfortunately, this time, things multiplied quickly before the problem was discovered.
Just 10 days ago, everything looked fine.
This proves that one can never let their guard down.

Until the COVID situation in Missouri improves dramatically, we are continuing to keep as guard up.

Meanwhile, the above Christmas Cactus will get sprayed tomorrow with Horticultor Soap and Neem Oil, with a hope that we're not too late to save the plants effected. As a preventive measure, I do not keep all of my Christmas Cactuses together. So not all of them are sick.

That's very disturbing and really doesn't make sense.
All schoolchildren over 9 now have to wear masks here (up until recently it was only secondary level pupils).
