Polson Park

Vernon, BC

It is sad that there are a lot of homeless people in Vernon.
This park is a favourite hang out for them.

How can we create such beautiful parks as this, and yet not take care of our own people's suffering. May the beauty of the park offer some solace from the cruelty of life.

This is the most gorgeous light!
Beauty and sadness all intermixed. A powerful story.

He looks forlorn in his seating position. Maybe having a rough day or reflecting on days past when life was better. A sad scene...Gill.V

Sad to see a person that has no home in such a beautiful setting. You captured this moment so well. V

your composition serves well to show a person alone, and perhaps overcome by life's challenges at the moment...at least he has this peaceful place as small comfort and refuge..

I agree with Neil. This is an all too common sight and extremely moving. Such a pretty place but a sad image,

This is such.an expressive image, Gill! The sadness is so obvious with the man's pose. I hope better times will come soon for him, and every other homeless persons there. The park trees are so lovely and lush with greens and I like how the willow branches seem to be falling down onto your subject.
