The Definition of Insanity

Not this guy!!! His is the face of Sanity.

Read on:

In a letter, signed by Cass County, Missouri commissioner and associate commissioners, the three men disagree with Kansas City Mayor Lucas’ attempts to prevent cases from surging because of a large, city-wide gathering.

“While we share the mayor’s optimism for another Chiefs Super Bowl win, we do not support his preemptive cancelation,” a letter said. “Now, therefore, be it resolved, that we the Cass County Commission do formally extend an invitation to the Kansas City Chiefs and the broader Chiefs family to celebrate a Chiefs Super Bowl LV win in Cass County, Missouri with a parade and all the pomp and circumstance benefitting the occasion.”

That is insanity!!!

A proposal like this makes one almost want to NOT have a reason for a local area, blow-out, Super Bowl celebration. The joy of the hometown team playing in the Super Bowl feels very different this year because life during a pandemic is different. I want our team to win, but I also don’t want people to end up dying as the result of the idiocy of COVID deniers.

The photo above is a TV/Cell Phone Cam image. Yes, again. But it fits the news. If the Kansas City Chiefs are fortunate enough to win the upcoming Super Bowl, Mayor Lucas (Mayor of Kansas City) is taking advice from the man in the above image concerning NOT having a Super Bowl parade. Win or lose, The 2021 Super Bowl still promises to be an exciting game in which fans of both sides can be proud of their teams. Although I thoroughly enjoyed – in person – Kansas City’s Super Bowl win celebrations in early 2020, no parade is now worth risking my life in 2021 with the pandemic.

The man in the photo is Dr Rex Archer. Dr. Rex Archer is Director of Health for the City of Kansas City, Missouri, and Past-President of the Association of County & City Health Officials. A man of science, he is opposed to having a Super Bowl parade during the pandemic. Plus he strongly advocates mask wearing; even if most of Missouri has no mask mandate. His is the face of Sanity. Dr Archer is a man you can trust with accurate advice and information that is grounded in science & reality.

The politicians in Cass County are another matter...
