Another of my memories from Montana, this bison was photographed in the National Bison Range near Charlo.

The NBR is a National Wildlife Refuge that was established in 1908, and is one of the oldest National Wildlife Refuges in the United States. It is home to between 350 and 500 bison, besides a number of other wildlife species. The bison is a dangerous animal, the heaviest land animals in North America. It can be between 5 to 6.5 feet tall at the shoulder and weigh over a ton.
