Garlic and Ginger Cubes

I do a lot of Asian Cooking and many of the recipes called for minced garlic and ginger. You can buy jarred garlic and ginger paste but it doesn't taste that great. Decided to make my own with a 2/3 garlic to 1/3 ginger ratio since I'm not that crazy about a heavy ginger taste.

I minced both in a small food processor, added a bit of avocado oil and put the result on an ice cube tray that I had sprayed with Pam. I think the cubes are a large tablespoon size. Having a flexible ice cube tray helps to get them out, as would running some hot water on its back to make removal easier.

After they were frozen I put them in a freezer container so I could pull out one of two out when I need them for a recipe. Sure beats dealing with a garlic press and ginger grater while getting ready for a dish. (they defrost quite quickly.)
