Blue Jay (Cyanocitta cristata) with a COVID Haircut

Beckwith Township, ON

I took this image a while back; whilst in a bit of a whimsical mood. It struck me that the Jay had a very flattened crown, unlike anything I had seen before.

It reminded me of all of us who have had either no haircuts; or some self-inflicted hatchet jobs; or less than stellar familial haircuts; due to the COVID-19 closures.

Somewhere along the way, I forgot to post it, so here is the Jay; in all its flattened crown "glory".

Sure hope the hairdressers are barber shops open soon!!

Nice sharp image Doug. I just wish I had its problem.

It looks a bit put out with its flattened feathers. Long head feathers are just like all of us waiting for a haircut after 3 months!
