This is near a busy intersection (see traffic lights) within the city of Ottawa. We, in Ottawa, are blessed to have a huge Greenbelt within our city. The Greenbelt originally was intended to curb urban sprawl to the East, West and South with the Ottawa River providing the Northern limit. The Greenbelt, however failed to do so as the city's boundaries have now spread far beyond the Greenbelt. No commercial activity, except farming (grandfathered), nature trails and recreational use is permitted within the Greenbelt. All parks and trails within the Greenbelt are maintained by the National Capital Commission, a Federal Government body - lucky us.
In this image the foreground, on the other side of the fence, is stubble of freshly harvested corn. Beyond that are about five rows of corn, left standing to act as a snow-barrier or snow-fence for the busy road behind.
