Question of the day: Why don't British bathrooms have an electrical outlet???
Yorkshire is beautiful, even in the rain! Yesterday we did a bit of retail therapy in Harrogate - Joules, Fat Face, Paperchase. Fun fun fun!
We left Harrogate in the rain and headed to see the Kilburn white horse. The White Horse was designed and financed by Thomas Taylor, a Victorian businessman, and was
cut in 1857. It is 314ft long and 228ft high. 20 people could stand on the grass island, which forms the eye! Walking on the horse is now strongly discouraged. The road leading up to the horse was a muddy mess! Yuck!
Onwards to the charming little town of Helmsley. Helmsley is the only market town in the North York Moors National Park. There are many adorable little boutique shops where Steph went crazy over the many rabbit goodies for sale!
We moved on to Robin Hood’s Bay - our base for the next 3 nights. Driving through the moors at dusk was like being on another planet! Miles & miles of rolling hills covered in heather. Amazing!
We can’t wait to explore more of the moors, Whitby, Staithes, etc. today!
