OK so it’s not a genuine plinth but the poor bug was slowly sinking into the front lawn so we had to get it off, cut the grass and then return the bug but onto something that will spread the load a bit. These slabs came up from the path down the side of the old garage when they were lifted to make way for the new foundations. I’m a thrifty sort of girl and can’t bear things to get chucked on the skip if we can use them somewhere else so the slabs were saved and they may well now be saving both the lawn and the car.
The bug’s been out in the open air now for four weeks and has another three weeks to go before it gets into its new home – a super garage/workshop that means we can actually walk around the car and work in there too. It’s going to be too cramped to work while the new kitchen is being built because tucked up around the bug will be our white goods because there is nowhere else for them to go while we have no kitchen. Please pray for a good summer so we can cook outside or it’ll be a camping stove in the lounge!
