Siena, Toscana
Thus spake Wikipedia: " According to local legend, Siena was founded by Senius and Aschius, two sons of Remus and thus nephews of Romulus, after whom Rome was named. Supposedly after their father's murder by Romulus, they fled Rome, taking with them the statue of the she-wolf suckling the infants (Capitoline Wolf), thus appropriating that symbol for the town."
Apparently there are therefore statues of Romulus, Remus and their wolf-parent all over Siena. It says something about how perfunctory our view of it was that this is the only one that I can remember... and I of all people am hardly likely to fail to notice sculptures of the Capitoline Wolf.
The sunburst was intentional but a touch more intense than I intended; though at this time of the day there wasn't much I could do about that.
