Odd maybe. However, I'm very proud of the white residue inside the 70-300mm lens hood (on the left on the table) being the dried spit of a wild Polar Bear. Although a little gross at first, I never washed the spit off the lens hood because it seemed like a badge of honor of the uniqueness of the situation. The dried bear spit has now been there for years. There are faint teeth marks, too.
That little DO lens (my most compact tele photo) has seen a lot in its 11 years. It has accompanied me on many adventures around the world & from Pole to Pole.
The lens's original lens hood got eaten by a Grizzly Bear in the Wild.
That's another of the many stories that both the lens & I could tell.
