No fo'get ! Call or email Pearl, myself or any reunion committee member to sign up for
our October LV reunion events... by tomorrow !

Mahalo Roy and Doug... I would add though that 'telling' someone of your appreciation is
probably even better... for yourself and the person being appreciated ( or maybe that's
what Doug meant ).

The usual link below to upcoming LV doings to plan ahead for our October visit.

Lastly, for July's blogs which have been few and brief, Roy's offering is one many of you
have probably seen a few times but - as they say in many an email - worth seeing again.
I won't normally post these kinds of links, but... as I said it's been kinda slow on the blog
this past month with not many emailing in specifically for the blog.
There are at least 1500 photos of old Hawaii, mostly of Waikiki and the surrounding area
and most of those during the 1950s & 1960s.
Brings back a lot of memories, many of which I remember amazingly well.

Aloha,
Hal

Got it Pearl... deadline to sign up for October Las Vegas events is July 31st to ensure a timely
submittal of a head count for reservations.
Please contact Pearl via email or phone, or email me, to sign up.

Thanks on behalf of the Mito family for those kind words Arline.
The classmates I managed to spot at the memorial were Pearl Shimooka, Muriel Masumura,
Barbara Baptist, Marjorie Morimoto, Edwina Ahn, Melvin Kaneshiro, and Robert Matsuda.
Found out from Edwina that her son worked with Mito, as we called him in our earlier years and
as he preferred.
Mel and I were good buddies along with Mito and a few others from our early teens and quite a few
years beyond.
Except for reunions and such, I pretty much lost contact with Mito and the rest a little after Mito's
wedding to his beautiful bride Carol.
Sad to lose a good friend but glad to know he no longer is suffering from his long illness.
Side note... Carol and some of the family left for a Japan trip the day after the memorial.
Something that Bobby had planned and set up probably knowing full well he wouldn't be joining them.
That's the Mito I will remember.

Great Pam... look forward to seeing you here in Honolulu in September... and by the way, LV is on
your way back home and just a few weeks beyond your Honolulu trip : )

Aloha,
Hal

Condolences to Carol on the passing of her dear husband Robert (Bobby).
He and she did participate in most of the class reunions with generous contributions.
He will surely be missed.

Hi Hal,

Was planning to come in April/May but my husband didn't want me to go and leave him while he was
recovering from his stroke on 2/22.
I think he was scared of being alone and not sure if he could drive.
So I stayed home but figured I'd better get to Hawaii while the sun was still shining and no snow around.
At first thought I'd come Jan./Feb. but decided to go August 25 - September 26.
So, no, I didn't skip out on you at the luau that I really wanted to go to!!!
Will email Gerri about my trip.

Love, Pam

Another passing of a classmate, one I knew well and was close with in our early teens.
Many of you will remember the friendliness and extreme generosity of Bobby and Carol whenever
they attended our reunions.

Thanks Roy and Doug for the words of wisdom.

Proving once again Vernon, one will more than likely see a familiar face while in Las Vegas.
I totally agree, Amy is a great gal who will go out of her way to say hello whenever she sees a
classmate/friend.

Yes Pam, sad to see so many of our classmates and friends are no longer with us, we will miss
them dearly.
I was also disappointed that I didn't see you at the luau reunion in May, or did you sneak in and
leave before I could see you ? : )
Believe you mean seeing us in October in LV, but September in Honolulu would be great too.

Aloha all, please do take care,
Hal

Ola! Hal

I´ve been out of touch with the blog for some time, but still enjoy reading all goings on.
Last week I was in The Cal in Las Vegas, visiting with two of my sisters who flew in from Hawaii.
We had a grand time during their short stay.
While I was choking down an ice creme cone upstairs, I heard someone call my name.
It turned out to be classmate Amy Morioka.
What a lovely lady she really is!
I was surprised that she remembered me.
We chatted for awhile, and I can honestly say that I thoroughly enjoyed our talk.
Just thought I´d pass that tidbit of info to you, and say that I look forward to seeing all in October.

Fondest Aloha, Vern

Hi Harold,

I checked out our classmates who've passed on and was surprised to see some of those names as
I had forgotten (maybe didn't know) that they had passed.
How come we're the lucky (?) ones to still be able to see the gang at our reunions?
Thank you for all your work (and the committee). I really appreciate it!
Hope to see you in September!

Love, Pam
