although we visited the well known sites like Cusco, Sacsayhuaman, Pisac, Tambo Machay, Puka Pukara, Moray, Ollantaytambo, and Machu Picchu, a chance meeting with an American post-doc student, Ward on the right, also led us to an obscure Inca site named Tipon...the fellow on the left is still a close pal, and that is me in the middle, on the verge of dapper, with a hint of scruffy, and trying to stay warm at 11,000 ft altitude...this was 1984
