The past week has been beyond busy, challenging and ultimately, pretty damn stressful. My daughters car was wrecked this week- she is fine and all is good for her. Walked away without a scratch on her but the same was not so for her reliable, efficient, paid for, perfect car for a 19 year old... It's gone- done and being scrapped. We had to manage these details over the phone 1100 miles away while not being able to be there, she handled it all really well... I am proud of her!
Some months ago I had a conversation with my insurance agent about her car, and he recommended for the value of her vehicle and what we pay in insurance on it it's most likely best to drop coverage to the bare minimums. It ran good but was a real POS. I kept meaning to call him up to do this but I am not good at those little details. Hell, I might have AOL still billing my debit card for monthly service, but seriously I just never got around to modifying our policy. Fast forward to the crash, and being extremely grateful Kayla was not hurt and feeling really happy I forgot to change that policy. We picked up this new car last night for Kayla and a very kind Papa is going to shuttle it to Florida for her this weekend and fly home. It is a story that could have had a thousand different endings but this one could not have been written any better if I had tried.
I spent the evening with a few cold Bud Lights and a can of paste wax detaining this cars finish. I hope this car lasts her a long time and more so keeps her safe going forward..
