This is the best macro image of the PanatomicX test shot I could get using my old FD lenses.
The biggest problem was focusing using a 'modern' optical viewfinder. And this is still soft but at least the triplets in the red area from the last image are starting to delineate.
While certainly poor quality, I am discerning horizontal and vertical triplets that on my 24MP test image entails only 5 pixels (see next example)
We might assume that I used a great lens and my procedure was perfect on that old 1980 test but the realities are that the lens was very modestly priced, I used less than ideal developer and my recent macro shot of the film is poor at best.
Still, I have a hard time believing that there would be any huge surprises with an ideal environment.
With perhaps the exception of Tech Pan, PanatomicX had the highest detail retention of all readily available films.
