6/14/2014 Received package from Canon USA Repair Service

I sent my Canon GPS Receiver to Canon for repair on May 7, 2014. The unit would lock up after being on for a few minutes and would not be recognized by the Canon software. Replacing the battery with a new one did not change the results. I was unable to download the log files to my computer. In other words the unit was useless.

On May 12, 2014, Canon acknowledged receiving the unit and will begin the necessary repairs under warranty and I should expect the repairs to be completed and shipped back to me within 7 business days.
I then received a phone call from Canon stating that they could not find anything wrong with the unit. She also told me that they have no spare parts or refurbished units available. I asked her if they found what had caused the unit to lock up and be unrecognizable to the software. She said that she will relay that information to the technician.

On May 14, 2014 Canon reports that the battery door was cracked and I would need to pay $100 dollars to continue the repairs. I made the payment online.

I called Canon on May 30, 2014 and was told the notes on my repair order were confusing and would it be OK for him to call me back later in the day. I said OK. Never called back.

On June 14, 2014 I received a FedEx package from Canon with a brand new GPS Receiver in it. I guess they could not repair my old unit.
