John Muir Way

The John Muir Way is a new long distance, coast-to-coast footpath that crosses Scotland.
It is 134 miles long and ends (or starts, depending on your preference) in Dunbar which is the birthplace of John Muir.
I know a lot of my American friends think he was an American born in California but, no, John Muir was actually a Scot who emigrated with his family as a young boy.
I didn't walk the whole way today :) Just the five mile section nearest to home.
The way is not to be confused with the John Muir Trail which runs from Yosemite Valley to Mt Whitney, in California. I need a passport to do that...

Interesting account.
When those trees leaf out I imagine this area is gorgeous.

There was a compelling documentary on TV recently, hosted by Ray Mears. It followed Muir's explorations in Canada.

I wonder how many would have walked both John Muir's Way and Trail.

Excellent composition and details, Bill. It's great to see John Muir honored in both his native and adopted countries. V

Interesting information, and a well-composed capture. I'm afraid I'm one of those American friends who have always thought that ;-).

:) Looks like a nice place to walk, and I would imagine one would see quite a lot while traversing the entire footpath.
