The beautiful church of Sta. Croce not only is the location of major artistic treasures, and the burial sites of many famous Italians
like Michelangelo, Galileo, Machiavelli, Ghiberti, and other Florentine notables,
but Sta. Croce also has a famous leather school, which can be accessed through the South transept.
Through this school,the art of working with fine leather has been preserved by teaching the craft to young people.
This image shows one corridor where visitors can look at finely made purses, leather jackets and other leather goods.
all of which are for sale, and would make a beautiful remembrance of a trip to Florence, bought "at the source".
