Walsh River headwaters

at 1,200 m elevation.
A number of rivers begin as springs in the upland rainforests of north Queensland. Most flow the short distance east to the Pacific coast, but the Walsh flows north-west from the other side of the Divide.

It's dark in the forest. Terrific image, Don.

What a journey this river makes. Yet here it looks like a little stream, just a trickle, one would think it a short watercourse. But 500km...!
