Fatuma binti Baraka aka Bi Kidude was over 100 years old on this photo.
The singer's exact date of birth is not known, but she is believed to have been born in 1910.
She was a legendary and undisputed queen of Taarab and Unyago music.
She also broke Muslim taboos by openly smoking and drinking alcohol.
Bi Kidude continued performing and touring until recently. She performed at Sauti za Busara music festival in Zanzibar in February 2013.
In 2005, Bi Kidude received the prestigious WOMEX Award for her outstanding contribution to music and culture in Zanzibar; and, in a documentary titled "As Old As My Tongue" by Andy Jones, she was depicted as a living legend of Zanzibar.
She died in Zanzibar on 17 April 2013.
