Texas Wildflowers - Fringed Puccoon 2

With five petals that meet in a tubular base that is about 1 1/2 inches long, these small golden Texas Wildflowers are very unique and beautiful. The fringed puccoon usually blooms in the early spring - February through May. In this Texas wildflower image, you can see the tubular areas clearly where the petals converge.
